Gutter Installation Business Tax Deductions: Machine, Materials, and Vehicle
Gutter installation is defined by one piece of equipment: the seamless gutter machine. This portable roll-forming machine sits in the bed of a truck or on a trailer and extrudes continuous aluminum gutters on-site. It costs $10,000-$30,000 and is the barrier to entry for the trade. Beyond the machine, material costs are moderate (aluminum coil stock, hangers, end caps, downspouts) and tool costs are low. The truck carrying the machine is the other major capital expense.
